CAFRI Labs: LiDAR x Non-forest Plots

Tiers

Tier 1: Plot inventory year matches LiDAR acquisition year
Tier 2: Plot inventories exist before and after LiDAR acquisition (bracketing years). If no disturbances (percent AGB loss > 5%) are detected, then linear interpolation between bracketing inventories is used to temporally align plot AGB with LiDAR acquisition.
Tier 3: Plot was inventoried 1 year prior to LiDAR acquisition

Non-forest Criteria

“All Non-forest Plots Excluded”: Plots with any non-forest conditions are excluded
“Non-forest Plots Meeting Landcover Requirements Included”: Non-forest plots are included only where all LAND_COVER_CLASS_CDs are in the following list:
- Agricultural Vegetation
- Grassland
- Non-vascular Vegetation
- Barren
- Water
“Completely Non-forested Plots Included”: Plots that are completely non-forested are included i.e. no mixed plots (forest & non-forest) are included.
